- Contributing €30.000 to the government of Malta (for parents or grandparents of the main applicant and spouse additional fee of €5.000) and,
- Investing €250.000 in government bonds to be maintained for at least five years
- Purchasing of a property in Malta worth a minimum of €320.000 (€270.000 in Gozo/ South Malta) or,
- 5 years of lease agreement signed for a residential property €12.000 per annum (€10.000 in Gozo/ South Malta)

The individual applies for the residence permit which is defined as Form K. The prospective application fee is €5.000. For each dependent an additional fee of €1.000 has to be paid. The program offers two real estate investment options; one is to purchase and the other is to lease a residential property. At this point, the property investment made by the applicant doesn’t have to fulfill the required investment amount. After the property investment is made, residence permit gets issued.
The applicant has to pass the due diligence test in order to complete the IIP Application Pack. Due diligence fees plus a non-refundable deposit of €5.0000 and bank charges of €200 has to be paid to conduct the due diligence background checks.Due Diligence

After IIP Application Pack is submitted and completed, client reference number gets assigned. The documents are evaluated by the relevant authorities and the Letter of Approval in Principle is recevied by the applicant. The investor has to make a substantial amount of donation to the National Development and Social Fund within 4 months. Also, the property and investment requirements have to be met within 4 months.Property Investment Options
The applicants have to choose between two of the options.Property Acquisition:
Purchasing a property worth a minimum of € 350.000. The investment has to be maintained for at least 5 years.Property Lease:
Renting a property for aminimum annual €16.000. The investment has to be maintained for at least 5 years.Receving Maltese Passport
12 months of residence is obtained as these steps are successfully completed. The investor has to pay the passport fee which is €500 per applicant. Finally, the applicants and the dependents receive their passports.
Malta Individual Investor application process takes approximately 12 months to complete.
