For D7, you would need to provide a letter from your employer stating that you are approved to work remotely from Portugal. It also has a minimum income / sufficient funds requirement, which you may satisfy.
If and once you qualify for your residence permit or visa, your daughter, who is 14, would also qualify as your dependent. She can then access the public education system in Portugal.

Seeing that you are a sole proprietor business consultant, you have a few available options available to you in regards to getting a residence permit or a visa in Portugal. The most probable three are:

D7 Visa
In order to apply for a D7 resident visa, you would need to show that you have sufficient funds to support yourself in Portugal. That is why it is also referred to as a passive income visa.

D2 Visa
A D2 Visa is suitable for entrepreneurs that are planning on starting a business in Portugal. For this, you need to submit a business plan that satisfies the Portuguese government.

Self-Employment Visa
This is similar to D2 Visa. Portugal asks that you provide:
* An evidence of having set a company in Portugal, or
